HOW-TO USE THIS REPOSITORY We assume that the reader knows how to download a package and check its integrity. Target sytems ------------- All packages have been tested on a full Slackware installation. All packages but 'slint' can also be installed in a distribution based on Slackware, but only if fully compatible with Slackware, i.e. the files needed at run time like shared libraries should be identical. If your distribution does not include a package shipped in Slackware that contains a needed run-time dependency, you can find what Slackware package you miss querying the Slackware Package Browser: http://packages.slackware.comm Installation or upgrade ----------------------- With pkgtools, shipped in Slackware: As root, type: upgradepkg --install-new --reinstall To use on of the third-party tools listed below, see their documentation. We indicate only the settings of their configuration files. With slackpkgplus, in /etc/slackpkg/slackpkgplus.conf: MIRRORPLUS['slint']=http://slint.fr/packages/14.1-i486/ (replace 14.1-i486 by the edition that fits your installation) include slint in REPOPLUS, and at least slint:brltty in PKGS_PRIORITY as our version of brltty supersedes the one shipped in Slackware. With slapt-get, in /etc/slapt-get/slapt-getrc: SOURCE=http://slint.fr/packages/14.1-i486/:PREFERRED (replace 14.1-i486 by the edition that fits your installation) :PREFERRED is just a suggestion. With usm To be determined. Please send feedback, bug reports and support requests to: Didier Spaier didier (at) slint (dot) fr
